*New Update: There is a half-day on Friday, the 23rd, at 11:30, which is not stated on the school calendar.
If your child's transportation is changing from their normal routine to go home, please let me know in a timely manner. Please send a letter to me in your child's Take-Home folder. You can send an email to me aswell. If I don't respond, please call the main office so they can tell me right away.
If your child is absent, please send in a note or an email to me explaining why they were absent.If you would like your child to attend extra help, please fill out the form on our class page on the SMT website and send it in the day before extra help. Extra help is on Monday mornings from 7:30-7:50 and Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 3:00-3:30. The children will be practicing a new prayer, the “Act of Contrition”, to prepare for their Sacrament of Reconciliation. Here it is below.
*Please sign the signature sheet that stays in your child’s “Take Home” folder showing me that you have seen their tests. *Dance is on Tuesdays. Lego is on Wednesdays.The small math book called "Additional Practice Workbook" is the math homework book. It comes home to be completed and returned to school the next day, along with the homework book, agenda book, and "Take Home Folder". The orange "Agenda" notebook is where the children write down what homework they have for the day, while the blue "Homework" notebook is where they will complete their spelling homework or other assigned homework.Please sign H.W. and readings logs every night
See the weekly homework sheet in your child's "Take-Home" folder or in their agenda for the most updated daily homework.The children will bring home the week's homework sheet every Monday to show you important updates/reminders, test dates, homework assignments, and the spelling, high-frequency, & vocabulary words. Please take out everything in your child's folder except the H.W. sheet, reading log, homework helpers, and signature sheet.If you have any questions, please let me know! -

*The children will learn about the long e sound this week. They will learn that different letter pairs will make the long e sound.
* Practice your prayers, the Our Father, Hail Mary, Guardian Angel, and Act of Contrition before bed. Reading H.W. is every day for 20 minutes. Please log it in the reading log. Study your spelling, vocabulary, and high-frequency words.
For more practice, when the children complete all of their homework, they can:
-Complete iReady Reading and Math lessons at home
-Study their high-frequency, spelling, and vocabulary words
-Read a "Just Right Book" for 20 minutes or more and log it into their monthly reading log! (*Remember to look for the setting, main events, characters, and theme while reading to help them understand stories better!)
-Also, respond to the stories by answering this question on looseleaf, "What is the message(theme) of the story?". You can help the children focus on their handwriting and remind them to make 5 star-sentences! -
